as the child cried
it's tears of neglect
with no one around
caring to protect
I wept
as the woman cried
out in her anguish and pain
his fists on her skin
scaring inside the same
I wept
as the man cried
bitter loneliness in his drink
his mind contemplating
suicide he does think
I wept
as the grandparents cried
for their grendchildren they miss
just needing the touch
of their gentle kiss
I wept
as the nation cried
its bitterness and pain
turning their backs
on me once again
I wept
